Mountain View RV, Arco, ID

Our last leg, will be home tomorrow.  Nice place, they have a restaurant on site, but it was closed today. specialty is ribs. Smelled heavenly, oh well.  The owner did offer places to eat, one being within walking distance, but we decided to just stay in camp.

Our drive was mostly scenic byway, no interstate.  Saw Bison, Antelope, and beautiful scenery.  Felt like a long drive, so we are kicking back, getting ready for the drive home.

Windhaven. Dubois, WY

Last night was a long one, storm, trains.  Arrived at the Windhaven RV Park, great place friendly people.  Good WiFi.  Nice weather, looking for a quiet evening

Fort Laramie

Last night was one of the worst storms we have encountered in our rig.  High winds, rain, lightning.  When we got up this morning some parts of the park were flooded, but we were not.  Drove to Fort Laramie, were able to see some of the sights, but it it extremely hot here, so didn't do much in the heat.  Staying at Chuck wagon RV.  Quaint place, but is 50 feet from the railroad tracks, train comes by every half hour, could be another long night.

Buffalo Bill Cody Ranch

What a fun day, we took a tour of Buffalo Bill's Winter ranch, what a treat.  The house is restored to it's original glory, most of the outbuilding were as s well, and there is a small herd of Bison on the property.

From there we went to the Golden Spike railroad hub highly recommend both.  Great day, lots of fun with family.

Rawlings

Traveled to Rawlings WY, KOA today.  Place is nice, looks like they are working on it as well.  Our site has a lot of dirt, but they are attempting to plant grass.  The wind was blowing so hard, the RV was rocking.  Makes it hard to sit outside. Not a bad place for overnight, wished the wind died down.

Tomorrow on to North Platte NE

Adventure July 2021

Our first leg lands us in Soda Springs, Idaho where we meet up with family to journey on to North Platte NE.  We are parked at Caribou RV Park.

We have a partial hook up, water and electric, WiFi for $27.00 a night.  Place is ok for overnight, but there is no grass, only tall weeds and sticker plants.  Fire pit is overgrown, almost stepped in it because it is not visible.  No place to out up the dog run.  On a busy road.  Yikes

Redding California

Made it to Redding for the night.  Redding RV Park really nice place.  There was quite a bit of construction delays, but still made it in less than 6 hours.

Since we are just overnight, we didn't unhook, will relax the rest of tonight, and head for Burns Oregon in the morning.

Had a small mishap, be role out the back window on the truck trying to turn too sharp.  RV appears to be ok, truck has a dent next to the window 😡. Will have to get that fixed as soon as we get home, put plastic over it to get home.

Hopefully that is all the drama we have.  Tomorrow is another day.

Blustery day

Today we decided to spend here at the harbor. Saw whales this morning, went to town for gas and propane.  The wind kicked up to where it was impossible to sit outside for very long, even rocked the RV at times.  Watched a wind surfer towards evening. Kind of a lazy day.

Port Orchard

Today we drove up the coast, stopped at all the scenic places, took a walk on the beach, and visited Harper House as well as the lighthouse. The wind was ever present making it cooler, but the sun was out. Another great day on the coast.  We only went as far as Port Orchard, left around 10:00, got back around 3:30 for linner.  Time for wine, and the beach.

Redwood forest

Today's adventure we went to the redwood forest. It's only 30 or so miles from here.  We hit construction, but the delay was not as bad as it could have been.  It was an awesome day, even took a quick hike into the Forrest. Saw a small herd of elk, laughed that we came this far from home to be up close!

Ended up with DQ for dinner, not bad.  Stopped at Walmart for a few things, back home for a walk on the beach.

Oregon coast

We have arrived at the coast!  What a wonderful drive it was from Crater Lake.  We went through a tunnel on the California side, and stopped at the rest stop for lunch.  There was a young girl there, walking her cat on a leash.  Don't see that every day.

We are staying in Brookings Oregon at Beachfront RV.  The spaces as really close, but we are right next to the ocean.  Even got to see a few spouts.. perfect day, even had pizza for dinner!

Crater Lake

Well, we learned a valuable lesson, watch TV he check in time.  We arrived from Burns around 1:30, but check in at the Crater Lake Resort is 3;00.

So we went ahead and drove up to Crater Lake National Park.  There is still snow up here, but the temperature was in the high 60's.  The line to get in was clear to the highway, but we forged ahead.  Once we got closer to the gate, the park ranger informed us the park was full, and we would be able to get to the lake, but not be able to have enough room to turn around to come back down with the RV.  So, we decided to turn around there and come back to the resort and see if we could get in... long story short, they charged us an early check in of $15.00 for the 30 minutes.  Took the wind from our sails so to speak, but we didn't have a choice, since to get closest place was over 30 miles.  We paid the fee, and parked.  Expensive place, $12.00 for each dog, $44.00 for partial hook up, and $15.00early arrival, will not stay here again, too bad as it is a nice park.  On to the coast tomorrow, can't wait.

May getaway

We are traveling again!  It feels so good to be able to be on the road.

Tonight we are staying in Burns, Oregon, Burns RV.  Great place.  No masks are required, but the office is not open.  The host greets you on the patio outside.  We are just here overnight, will leave for Crater Lake tomorrow.

KOA Jerome

We have arrived at our last overnight stay.  Driving across Nevada there is no cell service, no much scenery.  We have learned to stop at any gas station as they are few and far between.

Temperature is moderately, not supposed to freeze tonight so we can have water.  Nice place to relax and get ready for the drive tomorrow home

KOA Ely

We left Lake Mead this morning, and arrived in Ely after 6 hours of driving.  There's not much to see across the desert.and no cell service.

The weather here is quite s lot cooler, it is supposed to be down to 14 over night.  We will have to unhook the water before night so the hose doesn't freeze.  Am wishing we were going south instead of north.  Oh well, it will get warmer soon.

Echo Bay

We are traveling back to Idaho.  Our first stop is Echo Bay, at Lake Mead.  This is in the Nation Park... beautiful place, but not really fancy.

Tuesday, March 23, 2021

The wind had been relentless, had rained off and on, is 64°, but feels cold.  Spent today as a down day, going for dinner with friends

Mesa market

Today we went to Mesa Market.  This is can open market, not a flea market per debut reminds me of a Mexican open air market.  Had a lot of fun, there was so much to see, great buys, they even had live entertainment.  Well worth the trip.

Saturday, March 20, 2021

Sundance RV Resort

Arrived last night.  Weather is perfect, nice space to set up.  Today we are working on the fridge, husband was able to get it working...now we will have to stock up on food that we lost while the fridge was not working and could not survive the coolers.

Beautiful day, sunny and warm.

Dazzo's RV

Left Ely NV this morning.  The outside water had frozen overnight to our surprise, making it difficult to do much with no water as we had not placed water in the holding tanks coming from cold weather, lesson learned...set the coffee up the night before, when you have water!

Was a long day of travel.  Made it through Las Vegas before rush hour, but traffic was heavy still.  We had construction off and on, had about a 20 minute delay.

We were really happy to arrive at Dazzo's RV in Wikieup, NV.  Just in time for Chicago style pizza and beer.  Was able to clean up from this morning, dogs are happy, time to relax. Tomorrow we will arrive in Casa Grande where we are spending the next 10 days at Sundance Resort.

Traveling again

We are so excited to be traveling again.  We are headed to Casa Grande for an escape from what we call the frozen tundra of the mountains in Idaho.

We have a new rig and this is our first time out.  Stay we d at 93 RV last night, discovered the fridge is not working.  Called to see about repair, no one can look at it for several days.  Bought coolers and ice, headed out today...arrived at Valley View RV in Ely.

If this was lemons, the lemonade is really sour, but we can always try.

Will call and schedule something once we get to Casa Grande
