Well...we were unable to post the last two nights....no service.  Wednesday we arrived at Remote Outpost RV Park in Remote Oregon. It seems the smoke is everywhere.  The park was really nice, each spot was spacious.  We had to take an alternative route to Prospect due to a raging fire just outside Crater Lake.  Crater Lake RV is a really nice wooded area.  The only route into the park was from the south, the smoke is thick so in places all you can see is the outline of the lake.  It rained overnight, and the smoke cleared enough to see some if the sites.

We arrived back in Burns tonight.  Drive from Prospect was scary in places.  People were driving a little crazy.  I was really happy when we arrived in one piece.

Today we decided to drive up the coast to Tilamack and visit the creamery.  We indulged in a dip cone, got some squeaky cheese, and then came back to the beach at Oceanside.  Our dogs have never been on the sand before.  Had a great time. Had fresh seafood in Waldport for dinner.  Took a trip to the Bay at Newport after dinner.  It was fun to watch the he boats coming in for the night from the sea.  It is really smoky today here, can't seem to escape from it.  Tomorrow we head to Remote, Oregon, outside of Roseberg.

We left Sisters this morning and drove the scenic route to Waldport, Oregon. The fire is 6 miles outside is Sisters.  Drove through there entrance burn area, some parts still smoldering.  The highway was just re-opened so there was no traffic delays. Rovers RV Park is home for the next two days.  It is 14 miles south of Newport. To say that a picture is not always as it seems is putting it mildly, however it is clean, and spacios just not near the ocean.  We drove over to Newport and looked at the ocean, tomorrow we will spend the day on the coast.  There is smoke here as well, but it is cooler.

We are still in Sisters Oregon.  Will leave for the coast in the morning.  Really smoky, but we went to the street fair, wandered around town.  Stopped at the huckleberry shop, got huckleberry pancake mix and syrup.  Yummmm, breakfast while we are on the coast.  Last night there was a blood test sunset, and today to the sun was much the same.  Good news is the highway is now open! The campground we are staying at is really nice. There is a park next door with a covered bridge over the creek.  Took the dogs for a walk.  It was fun.  If the smoke was not as thick, we may have done more, but find it hard to breathe after awhile outside....On to the coast 😎

Day two brings us to Sisters, Oregon.  We got an RV spot at Creekside.  Beautiful place, however, the smoke and Ash is thick.  We learned that the fires are within 6 miles. Took a drive around this evening...saw a doe and two really young fawns.  Stopped and had ice cream at the Soft Cup(not sure the name).  Learned there is a street fair set up...but most people in this area are fire fighters...will see tomorrow what is going on as we are staying tomorrow night as well.

Our Oregon coast adventure begins.  Our first night is spent in Burns at the Burns RV Park. This is right off the highway.  Full hookup, pull through space.  There is a small privacy fence with table and two chairs. I would stay here again.  We are travelling in our 20 foot Coleman, with our truck.  First outing in the new rig.  So far, so good 😁😁
